Excuses, excuses…

Now, here’s the thing…

Many years ago I hung out with a band (Picasso/Wasp Factory). A great group of people quite fresh on the scene. They had friends in the various arts, so we all mingled and did our bit.

It was early enough on that some of these people were only just breaking into the bigger side of their arty business. All quite normal but artsy people, and one of, if not the happiest times of my early years.

They wrote a fanzine (The Sting) along with a couple of us outside of the band, including Eddie Izzard, Dominic Holland and me. Eddie wrote ‘Pants Cat‘ and I wrote ‘The God Letters‘. Eddies was about a cat in pants (and was obviously brilliant), and mine was about Stan Satan and how he was always being blamed for everything. My very first religious satire was a written text that became today’s ‘Tricked Out‘ cartoon.

So there’s a little history for you.

Superpowers

The most important characters in the bible are Satan and Judas. Fact.

Without Judas, Jesus would not have been betrayed, and his ultimate (ha!) sacrifice wouldn’t have happened. A betrayer was needed. Then they tore the betrayer apart for betraying Jesus… Such a lovely way to repay someone for such a pivotal job.

Without Satan in Hell, then what has god… or rather… What has the church got to threaten us and keep us in our places? Yup… Nothing. To keep people from questioning you or going up against you, you must have a good deterrent… and that goes doubly so in a corrupt or power hungry situation.

Back when religion started, there had to be a bad guy to scare people towards the power hungry religious leaders… so the Devil was required.

Without Judas or Satan, the whole bible falls apart. That generally only happens in really poorly written story books, because the writers can’t think of a cleverer way to emphasise how good the good guy is, or how to make the good guy stand out.

It’s the same with fictitious superheroes. Without villains, there is no need for Superman or Batman… In fact without Superman or Batman, there wouldn’t be villains who kept threatening the human race just so they could get at Superman or Batman… Which puts a great twist on things…

Without the Devil, God is powerless…

BUT, and more importantly…

Without God, there would be no Devil… No nemesis…Everyone would be fine.

Boston Backdraft

Please share this, or at least share the message. I’m not after page hits – I simply want people more aware of the consequences of their actions. Thank you.

A cold shiver shot down my back as I read THIS.

When I said something like this would happen (when I wrote THIS), I wasn’t trying to be clever. I thought it was obvious that something like this would happen.

Looks like it wasn’t obvious enough to a huge number of ignorant vigilante scum.

I don’t feel smug or righteous about saying something like this would happen. I feel disgusted that I wasn’t proved wrong. I’m not surprised or shocked that it happened… and that scares me.

I’d rather be shocked that people would do this, than not shocked because of the inevitability of it happening.

Maybe people will listen and think next time.

I hope there isn’t a next time though.

Let’s set a few rules though… Just in case:

Even if you think you are helping, please just leave it to the experts, and if you must share pictures of crime suspects etc, please just use official released pictures & LINK THEM TO THE POLICE PAGE that originally posted them.

If you really want to help (and it’s really very good that you, or anyone, does), then the best course of action is:

DO:
1. If you post a photo, make sure it is an official one from law enforcement sources.
2. Post a link back to the original website, so that people can go there to see what they should do if they know or see the person (it will have contact details & hotline numbers). It also helps people verify what you are posting.

DON’T:
1. Don’t be ambiguous or leading with your information, or lack thereof. If possible, quote direct from the law enforcement website.
2. Don’t post photos without official source back up.
3. Don’t post theories or information that could waste police time. Keep to the facts.
Finally… and yes, I think I have to say this…
4. Don’t take the law into your own hands and perform vigilante ‘justice’.

Pants for higher

I thought it looked stupid before Bieber started doing it… But now I have to laugh at all the ‘cool’ street kids trying to look tough… because now they just look like they have girly love crushes on Bieber…. SQUEAL!!! JUSTIN!!! I WANT TO BE YOU!!! MARRY ME!!! SQUEAL!!!

Apparently it’s cool to look like you can’t get dressed without your mother’s help, wearing trousers/pants half way around your knees so people can see straight through between the top of your belt loop & the bottom of your frank & beans… Must be a real chick magnet…

Well, if you think it’s cool to dress like an American prison inmate who wants ass sex then go ahead… It’s very enlightened of you… Unless… UNLESS you were trying to imitate that factory built ‘pop singer’ acne factory Justin Bieber, with his pasty white ass hanging out of his ‘rape pants’.

Yeah… Those are two things that I ALWAYS look for when I think of fashion…

Yeah… I want to be like the Bieber… as much as I want my anus to be a prison toy.

Note: ‘Sagging’ originated in prisons because inmates were not allowed belts, but quickly became adopted by the gay subculture to show that a person was available for some man on man sex. Whether the subculture adopted this from the memes & emails that jokingly said this was a gay thing, or that it was a gay thing in the first place & then became a meme & viral email is still in question. Either way, it lost any cool status it may of had once Bieber did it…

The 4:12 to Hell. The title’s a bit of an in joke and nothing much to do with the cartoon, and the joke was first written years ago about the then new stagecoaches… but at least it’s, erm… Well… It could be worse.
