God and Son

Poking the bloated corpse of religion with a pointy stick to hear it fart.

Stage School

I hear lots of people complain & protest about children being forced into beauty pageants, acting & dance classes, music and sports (for starters). Sure it’s great to take kids along & let them see & try things out, but that’s a whole lot different from living vicariously through the kids yourself.

Lots of these kids either fail to have a life, or get forced into the mainstream too fast & end up burnt out wrecks. The most prominent cases that show these extremes are child actors who are then seen to self destruct in a drug and alcohol induced spiral. Too much too soon.

Ironically though, are those who protest about others putting their kids through this hellish grind… yet go out and get their kids baptised, christened or put through any other religious indoctrination.

Why not wait for them to make their minds up, instead of forcing YOUR (incorrect & unsubstantiated) beliefs on them, to the point where the kids know no other way?!?

Bad parenting isn’t just letting a child sit in its own filth & smacking it for crying. Bad parenting is forcing your child into things that they may well have chosen not to do… If it wasn’t for the fear that the parent put in them.

Teaching isn’t forcing. Forcing isn’t teaching.

Shut your prayer hole

Matthew 6:5-6
5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

In other words… “Shut up. Do your god bothering in your own room… Pope…”

Follow Through

(Exodus 31:14) – “Therefore you are to observe the Sabbath, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people.”

Fished in!

Fished in!!! : A term used when you catch someone out with a made up fact or such like. Also ‘hook, like line and sinker’ ( see comments).

“I just convinced Dave that I had a glass eye! Man, he totally fell for it! Boy was he fished in!”

Also used in Wayne’s World.

Is it any wonder that one of Christianity’s symbols is a fish?

The Church knew all along that you were suckers, and even went as far as to make the fish symbol in-joke which none of you got!

Dam it!

Is that a God damn?

Amish the Point

I can’t wait to see the Amish feedback when they turn on their computers and see this….

They Mayan’t be Right

All the fear & talk of a Mayan predicted end of times, can be debunked in a few ways.

Q: Why did the Mayan people end the calendar when they did?

A: They had to end it somewhere!

Maybe the writer became bored, or died… or ran out of paper, or just figured it was a good point to stop.

If I asked you to write a calendar, where would you stop? You wouldn’t just keep writing it… It means nothing!

The other big debunk on the Mayan ability to predict the future can be summed up in one word…

Actually, who’s to say that the calendar writer wasn’t killed by an invading Spaniard just as he was writing out ” 21 December 2012…..” (or at least the Mayan version of that date…).

Good point… The Mayan date which falls on 21st December 2012 was written as Now that’s a good figure to end on. A nice round figure. Why go on to seems a good a place as any to stop writing. If you had to write a huge list of numbers, then you’d probably want to end at something like 10,000…. and not 9,978 or 10,001.. It’s just tidier that way.

Bend Over Backwards for God

Well, it’s such an obvious comparison, and very much in the public eye, what with the Olympic games drawing to an end.

No choice, and in both cases the kids fear to defy those in charge.

The big difference… One group do it to indoctrinate kids into religious cults (all religious groups are cults) for the worship of a mythical cloud sitting sky pixie, who offers them some make believe eternal life after death…. and the other group do it for the ‘greatness’ of their country, to show how they are better & stronger than anyone else.

Basically the Chinese tortuous treatment of kids for the greatness of China is more tangible and fact based that the treatment of kids in religion…

Yup… All those religious people looking at the images of crying toddlers & kids in China, and thinking how horrible it is…. Well, you’re below that.

A Whole Lot of Nothing

Yup… Churches are massive warehouses of nothing. They need plenty of space to keep all that no proof.
